The Municipal Program

The Municipal Program  creates an educational ecosystem through which every student can realize their  full potential, free from the limitations of gender bias. The Municipal Program promotes  systematic, long-term, and holistic change, adapted to the local educational vision and system. The Institute for Gender Equity in Education guides local authorities through the development and implementation of municipal programs for educational staff at pre-schools, elementary schools, and secondary schools.

These programs combine tailored training processes for the staff of educational frameworks around the city, with the creation of a city-wide forum for peer learning.

The Hub for Education and Gender in Jerusalem

The  institute developed and facilitated training sessions for education teams from kindergarten through high school in Jerusalem, focusing on identifying gender-related bias in the educational space and  implementing practical tools and programs to promote gender equality, taking inspiration from both local and international initiatives.

Tel Aviv Yafo’s Equal City Program: Education for Gender Equity

The ‘Equal City’ program is a strategic initiative aiming to implement a gender lens in all aspects of the municipality’s work. The Institute for Gender Equity in Education developed the vision, goals, and pilot programs in schools and kindergartens to promote a gender-equitable educational culture. The Institute wrote the theoretical-pedagogical framework for advancing gender equity across the age spectrum and provided professional training to teams in schools and kindergartens.

The Kfar Yona Gender Equality in Education Program

A systemic and strategic program that recognizes the need to address the roots of gender inequality from an early age in environments where gender perceptions and biases are formed among children. The program operates through training educational teams and building school-specific work plans to change routines, tailored to the cultural unique characteristics of each school, along with professional guidance for senior management to integrate a gender perspective into all decision-making processes and programs.

Safe in Mate Asher Regional Council

A program aimed at creating a local ecosystem for promoting gender equity through education and providing equal educational opportunities for all students to learn, grow, and imagine career futures free from gender constraints. The program seeks to reduce gender-based violence by raising awareness of the roots of the phenomenon and providing tools for identifying and addressing it.

Gender Equality in Early Childhood- Gezer Regional Council

The program in the Gezer Regional Council focuses on promoting gender equity in kindergartens to address the roots of gender inequality affecting young children. The program includes on-the-job training for kindergarten teachers to identify and map gender stereotypes in the kindergartens, and to develop and implement an action plan tailored to each kindergarten.
